Title: Team Excel Trainer
I have enjoyed an active lifestyle for most of my life. From a very young age, I participated in a variety of activities from running along side my dad, to swimming & diving to gymnastics to dance. I even remember following along with the 6am TV program, “20-minute workout” with my mom when I was in grade school!
While attending the University of Kansas I realized I could turn my love of exercise into a career with a degree in Exercise Science. Upon completion of my degree, I earned my personal training certification through NSCA, then packed up and moved to Arizona. In addition to working in a health club setting with clients of all ages, I also had the opportunity to lead my teammates in a conditioning program during my time as an Arizona Cardinals Cheerleader. After 5 amazing years in Arizona, missing my family took its toll and I came back to Kansas. Back at home, I found a great position, but spent the majority of my days in front of a computer. Knowing a sedentary 8-5 was not for me, I decided it was time to make a change.
After the arrival of our second child, I was blessed with the opportunity and support of my husband to spend more time at home with my babies while studying for re-certification. Now as a certified personal trainer through ACE (American Council on Exercise) and a mother of two small children, I am passionate about providing healthy foods, creating healthy habits and to lead by example in living a healthy, active lifestyle. I have seen some amazing transformations already amongst family, friends and clients. I am inspired by their success.
